to the Northwestern Section of

The American Bridge Association

Portland, Oregon:  In 1989, the City of Roses was the host city to the only Summer Nationals ever held in the Northwestern Section.  Oregon has some of the greenest country in the nation.  Oregon levies no sales tax.

Seattle, Washington:  At 605 feet high, the Space Needle has been the signature structure of the Emerald City since it was built for the World’s Fair in 1962.  The entire city can be seen from here and it also has a revolving restaurant at the top.

Tacoma, Washington:  Tacoma is home to the Emerald Queen Casino.  Tacoma also boasts some of the richest bridge history in the Pacific Northwest.

At this time, the ABA Northwestern Section has two units, two open clubs, and four closed clubs.  Our territory, however, includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.  Expansion is a major undertaking, but the ABA must be taken to these areas and to other locales in Oregon and Washington.

Karen Tillis, Vice President

ABA Northwestern Section
